Dear Sir or Madam,

I have found your ad for Life Sciences Direct Account Representative in the New York Times, and I would like to be considered for that position.

I graduated from Brandeis University Cum Laude, with BS with Honors in Biology and BA in Economics. I am a high-energy individual who is willing to go an extra mile to get the job done well. I have a solid understanding of markets and a great appreciation for the role that customers play in successful businesses.

Having done research in a laboratory myself, I have learned the importance of customer service to research scientists. I have worked two years in (PI name) Molecular Biology and Immunology laboratory and have extensive understanding of molecular biology including DNA/RNA/Protein work and tissue culture. My extensive experience working with people from all walks of life, that I gained while interning in the Constituency Relations department for Public Advocate for NYC, would serve me well in this position.

I am very comfortable working with computers. My writing skills, I believe, are sufficient to be able to deliver well-polished analytical reports.

My undergraduate research over the last two years culminated in a well-received senior honors thesis entitled "Characterization of Proteins Binding to the ßE5 motif of the T Cell Receptor ß-chain Enhancer." My experience has taught me how to handle a research project on my own from beginning to the end.

My CV is attached. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would also like to hear about other interesting positions you might have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Joe Jobseeker
